Zoila Esquivel Moreno is a school principal at River Glen K-8 School in the San José Unified School District located in San José, California. ATDLE has been a fundamental part of her educational experience and has inspired her work as an educator, advocate, and leader for the past 19 years in Dual Immersion Education. Zoila earned a BA in Liberal Studies with a minor in Spanish, Bilingual Multiple Subject Teaching Credential, and MA with an emphasis in Curriculum and Instruction at San José State University. MA on Educational Leadership at Santa Clara University.

Zoila’s continuous work with English Language Learners and Dual Language Learners has been ongoing and continues to shape the work being done with teachers and leaders to elevate language instruction in order to provide equity in access to high-quality instruction to ensure academic success for diverse bilingual learners. “Our culture, our traditions, our language are the foundations upon which we build our identity.”
