Martín Macías is the Assistant Superintendent of Educational Services for Merced County Office of Education. Martín was a secondary teacher prior to becoming an administrator in the K-12 system while also teaching as an adjunct instructor for several institutions. Martín served as a program specialist and director for English learner support in two different county offices and later served as superintendent for eight years. He also served as Region 3 CALSA (California Association of Latino Superintendents and Administrators) Board of Directors member with CALSA and is an Advisor Board Member with ATDLE (Association of Two-Way & Dual Language Education) organization to support dual language initiatives. Martín was involved with the CDE Accountability Leadership Institute planning committee and was a state-appointed committee member with the EL Roadmap Policy and the English Learner Progress Indicator (ELPI). Martín is a results-driven professional with integrity to bring stakeholders together to align best practices to meet the needs of each and every student. He received his BA and MA from CSU, Chico and later received his Administrative Credential from Chapman University.
