Martín Macías is currently the Superintendent at Golden Plains Unified School District in Fresno County. He received his BA and MA from CSU, Chico where he also did his student teaching. He later received his Administrative Credential from Chapman University. Martín joined ATDLE in 2014 to support the biliteracy efforts while bringing 30 years of experience. Martín also sits as a planning committee member with the CDE Accountability Leadership Institute. Martín was a secondary level teacher for eleven years prior to being an administrator in the K-12 system while also teaching as an adjunct instructor for several institutions. Martín served as program specialist and director for English learner support in two different county offices. Martín was awarded the regional Valuing Diversity Administrator through ACSA and has an honorary scholarship in his name. Martín is a result’s driven professional with integrity to bring stakeholders together to align best practices to meet the needs of each and every student.
