She is currently the Assistant Executive Director for the Association of Two-Way and Dual Language Education. For 14 years she was a consultant with Thinking Maps working with teachers throughout the United States providing them with the tools to help ALL students, especially struggling students, become successful critical thinkers. Prior to becoming a consultant, she was an employee of the Ysleta Independent School District for 24 years serving in a variety of roles. She was appointed interim Director of Bilingual Education and served in this role for almost 2 years. Other administrative roles included District Dual Language Coordinator and Coordinator for the Japanese family at Alicia R. Chacon International. As a teacher, she served as a dual language teacher, an elementary bilingual teacher, a Descubriendo la Lectura teacher (Reading Recovery).
